After electrifying performances at Sonisphere U.K., the Vans Warped Tour and a handful of U.S. festivals this summer, FAMILY FORCE 5 are set to bring their incendiary mix of dirty South dance floor anthems, thunderous beats and Southern-fried guitar on the road this fall. The Atlanta quintet will launch the "It's All Gold" tour October 26 in Orlando, FL in support of their new genre-obliterating album III, due out October 18 on Tooth & Nail Records//III Entertainment. The pre-sale for III begins today, click here: http://store.familyforce5.com/collections/preorder-III
For the "It's All Gold" trek, fans that arrive early can participate in "The Gold Karaoke Challenge," a unique and fun, interactive competition destined to be a spectacle each night. Fans that come down in full FAMILY FORCE 5 gear and regalia will put their names in the gold disco ball, a random drawing selects 5 fans who get to perform one FF5 song onstage with the 808'ers (@the808ers)--an up-and-coming production team that collaborated with the band on III. The best Gold Karaoke Challenge singer will win the Grand Prize and join FAMILY FORCE 5 as a guest vocalist live on stage during the band's performance of the fan-favorite song "Love Addict."
FAMILY FORCE 5's new album III marks a dynamic shift and takes the group back to their rock roots, resurrecting the heavy guitars and bombastic beats of their debut. Opening track "Can You Feel It" explodes with searing guitars and lead singer SOLOMON OLD's distorted voice slices through the boom-bap of tumultuous drums. "At the time, we were listening to a lot of Sleigh Bells--we wanted to create something mean and gritty," explains guitarist DEREK MOUNT. "This song gets people hyped up, and perfectly sets the tone for the rest of the album." Unadulterated energy ties the band's unstoppable genre-hopping as FAMILY FORCE 5--brothers JACOB, JOSH, and SOLOMON OLDS, and NATHAN CURRIN and DEREK MOUNT--explores low-slung bass booms and harmonica howls on "Wobble" and the tongue-in-cheek "scenie baby" call-out pop song, "Tank Top."
FAMILY FORCE 5 have earned a loyal following culled from their booty-quaking beats, endless touring and chart-topping albums. The group's previous album, 08's Dance or Die, debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #30 and the Modern Rock chart at #8 with 13,000 copies sold in the first week. An Alternative Press magazine cover story followed and the group co-headlined the completely sold-out "Alternative Press Fall Tour" with 3OH!3 and The Maine. Catch FAMILY FORCE 5's upbeat party anthems and raucous stage antics on the "It's All Gold" tour this fall, dates below.
